Goulburn Valley Seed Savers

Date Founded:
2008-03

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."-Margaret Mead (1901 - 1978) US anthropologist.
Gardeners are in tune with the natural world, the weather, and the seasons. They look for ways of working peacefully and harmoniously with nature, rather than fighting against her. Growing our own reconnects us with skills and sensations that we have largely lost in the late 20th century. In the face of Global Warming & Oil shortages, our skills as seed savers and vegetable growers will not only be required, but will become increasingly valued.

GV Seed Savers is based around the Goulburn Valley, we have a small dedicated group that meet monthly and offer an email or newsletter subsription to many others. We meet 4 times a year on the last sunday of each season, and every other month we arrange visits to each others gardens & other places of interest, we attend monthly market to sell excess seeds and promote our group. Usually people BYO snack or provide plate to share, and a kettle is always at hand.

I’m always happy to answer any questions you may have.
