Clearly written by one of our former interns, and beautifully illustrated, this 70 page book is a practical guide for saving seeds in the villages of the Pacific. We provide it as a pdf here as it is out of print.
This is a pdf of an abbreviated translation done by the Bulgarian Seed Savers. If you have any comments please email michel@seedsavers.net. We are working in the Balkans over the next few years and would love to make contacts.

Violet Town Seed Savers
Date Founded:
2001-05
Violet Town Seed Savers meet monthly on the first Sunday at 1.30pm. We're a fairly loose group with no formal structure, committee etc - decisions are usually made at each meeting by those present. Gatherings are held at members homes and gardens, or other properties of interest. Each month also members meet at various homes specifically to package and label seeds for sale. Our excess seeds are sold at 2 monthly markets around the region for $1 a packet. We find this a very satisfactory way of getting local seeds out to the wider community. Markets are also a terrific venue for meeting other gardeners, swapping information about varieties, and occasionally being given some seed treasure to try out. The money earned is used to buy books or other resources for the group and to make donations to various organisations, schools, charities etc . We have donated seed to some fire affected gardeners.
Sandra runs the month to month organisation of the group and puts out a monthly newsletter with details of meetings and full of information and hints on all aspects of gardening and seed saving. She welcomes any info from members to be included in the newsletter. Sandra 5795 1109.
We enjoy trialling out new varieties as well as keeping many of the old tried and true ones going. We have some very long term seed savers within the group and they are a wonderful resource for many beginners.
If you would like to contact us, please phone Terry on 5790 8635 or Monika on 5797 2695. If you would like to receive our seed list please email Monika at monika.boyce@ycs.com.au We are happy to swap seeds with any other seed savers.
