Michel on speaking tour of Japan

In July Seed Savers' co-founder, Michel Fanton, went to Japan to speak to consumer and farmers' groups about conservation of food plant varieties.

Michel's tour included:

• attending a reception by Jikyu, the organisation that saw through the publication of The Seed Savers' Handbook in Japanese in Kobe

• attending the official launch of the book in Kyoto

• giving workshops in Mie, Chiba and Tokyo

• meet with officials from Japan Organic Agriculture Association

• meeting funding foundations with a view to seeking funds for projects in the Majority World

• meeting the press.
