Seed Savers Tour of Portugal in November
Michel and Jude Fanton are on a speaking tour of Portugal from 4th to 13th November. They are attending and speaking the national seed savers' gathering, showing their film, "Our Seeds", giving workshops and teaching on an Introduction to Permaculture workshop. Please see the programme below.
Schedule of Seed Savers Tour of Portugal November 2011
Thursday 3: Arrival and settling in a palace (ancient house) in Alfama, Old Lisbon.
Friday 4: Portuguese Seed Savers Annual Meeting in the south on the Algarve coast for a presentation on local consumption at 15.30.
8.30pm: Screening of "Our Seeds" film followed by a discussion.

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6: Portuguese Seed Savers event with talks, workshops, food and wine tasting, all local and organic, ending around 17h on Sunday 6th. Visit and stay at Tamera Eco-village.
Monday 7, pm: Return to Lisbon by train.
Tuesday 8, pm: Visit Eco-School in the Mon Santo Forest.
16 to 18h presentation, with Powerpoint, on school kitchen gardens to parents and teachers.
19h: Seed activist dinner with communal cooking. During dinner there will be informal conversations about how the Fantons produced their film, tips on setting up seed networks, etc.

Wednesday 9, 11-13h: Presentation to gardeners and would-be gardeners at a kitchen garden near Alfama about seed saving and setting up local seed networks.
21h: Screening of "Our Seeds" in Lisbon followed by a discussion with other panelists.

Thursday 10: Leave for Coimbra in the north to the Botanical Garden where a kitchen garden has been created.
15 - 17h workshop on seeds and seed saving.
17 - 19h workshop on seed savouring - a culinary workshop and afterwards participants will eat the results of their work in an informal dinner.

Friday 10, 20.30h: Screening of "Our Seeds" at a theatre near the Coimbra Botanical Garden - public session with a discussion afterwards, with panelists.
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13: In Coimbra, Introduction to Permaculture course created especially for the Seed Savers Tour, with a lot of emphasis on seed issues.
After that - visit and presentations at the Red de Semillas "Resembrando e Intercambiando" (Seed Savers) in Seville.
The Fantons are available to give presentations in Spain and France in November and December
